Raven's Head Press is delighted to present Gianluca Piredda's Wicked Game  in print as a trade paperback, kindle, and audio book. This is a novelette and the first of what we are calling our One Shot line. The book is in an expanded English version by Michael Hudson and in the original Italian by Gianluca Piredda. Both versions are excellent and have been getting great reviews.

Synopsis:  Tom Tucker was having a good day. And then he got a mysterious phone call telling him he would need to kill or be killed by a man he'd never met before. And so his nightmare began. Gianluca Piredda and Michael Hudson bring you a psychological thriller in novelette form that will place you right into Rod Serling's Twilight Zone. See if you figure things out faster than Tom Tucker.
Our audio version is read by voice actor, Shane Morris and he has done a masterful job of bringing the words on the page to life. If you love radio drama then this is the version for you. The audio book and kindle are matched up so you can read along or take up where you left off on either version. Of course, if you are like me you'll want the trade paperback on your shelf or better yet in your back pocket or purse. The book is perfect escapism and you can read it in one setting and be happily satisfied with the experience.

Raven's Head Press has a new kindle book out today and it is great read.

Originally serialized in Adventure magazine as He Who Rides the Tiger and as a novel in 1948 as The Nightwalkers, James Norman Schmidt writing as James Norman gave us a fine adventure mystery with an exotic locale that has not seen U.S. print since 1953.
For now, Raven's Head Press will just be offering this as a kindle edition. Enjoy!

Raven's Head Press is proud that Alexandra Holzer's GHOST GAL: The Wild Hunt has been included as a nominee for the Fiction Literary Award category in the prestigious 2015 Paranormal Awards. And they gave us the really nifty Certificate of Nomination that we show off. Bobby Nash did a bang up job as he always does on the book with some asides from me and our must, Alexandra, was always there with anecdotes about her childhood and parents to charm us and keep us on the straight and narrow if that can even be done in a paranormal adventure.

Sunday, June 28, 2015

Raven's Head Press is delighted to announce that Italy's horror maestro, Paolo Di Orazio's MY EARLY CRIMES is now available for purchase through Amazon.

The book is comprised of ten short stories originally  published as Primi Delitti by Acme Press in 1989 in Italy. The book began as a comic book project but saw print in a prose format as a supplement to Orazio's already notorious "Splatter" comics anthology. Primi Delitti became the forerunner of the Italian splatter noir movement. The book was very successful and caused a Parliamentary  ruling in 1990 accusing the book of an "incitement to murder".

The stories, comprised of children who take part in or are witness to their first murders indeed, are horrific and many are defined from the viewpoint of a child. That one aspect lends even more terror since we as adults view the world from a much different perspective.

Our edition has been translated by Michael R. Hudson and adapted to appeal to an English reading audience. Cover is by the wonderfully talented fine arts painter, Stephen Mackey with interior black and white spot illustrations by another fine arts painter and amazing illustrator, Jamie Chase.

Here is what some people have to say about My Early Crimes:

"A visionary poet of flesh and blood nightmares. Paolo Di Orazio is both a dazzling storm and a sinuous snake that hisses into your ear. My Early Crimes is one of the most disturbing and original works of this talented writer. Highly recommended."
—Alessandro Manzetti, Bram Stoker Award Nominee

"Paolo Di Orazio is not for the faint-hearted."
—Gene O'Neill, Bram Stoker Award winner

"Paolo Di Orazio is a literary Dario Argento. Very spooky stuff, beautifully translated from the Italian by Michael R. Hudson."
—Jamie Chase,  Myx, The Darkness From Warsaw, First World, At The Earth's Core

The book will be available as a standard trade paperback at 6" x 9" 138 pages. It will also be offered in both Kindle and mobi formats. A very special deluxe hardback edition limited to fifty (50) signed books by both Orazio and Hudson is underway and should be available very soon.

If you would like to order a copy of the trade paperback edition please click here:

One last thing. We are asking that if you read the book would you PLEASE give us a review on your blog and on Amazon. Reviews are like gold. Both Orazio and Hudson are available for podcasts and interviews. If you are a reviewer and will commit to a review and want a copy of the book please ask.

ERNESTO GASTALDI'S THE CASE OF THE BLOODY IRIS by Michael Hudson is now available for ordering on the Raven's Head Press website or on Amazon.com.

When a couple of young women are viciously slain in a once glamorous Milan high-rise, two beautiful young models move into one of the highly sought after vacated apartments. Soon, a mysterious killer is stalking both women! The suspects include a sex-crazed ex-husband, a lesbian neighbor on the prowl, the deformed son of a sinister widow, and even the building's handsome property manager who suffers from hemophobia, a paralyzing fear of blood. Can the local police inspector and our two heroines expose the masked maniac with an appetite for alluring women and perverted murder before the girls become his next victim?

Based on the fantastic giallo screenplay of Ernesto Gastaldi with an informative and entertaining foreword by Video Watchdog’s Tim Lucas, Michael Hudson’s version of The Case of the Bloody Iris is going to have you looking over your shoulder and sitting on the edge of your seat when you are alone in the dark.

Ernesto Gastaldi's giallo thriller BLOOD IN MY POCKET is on sale at amazon.com

Her face was disfigured by a line of blood that ran across one eye and she was covered in scratches and bruises."At home? I'm at home?" she stuttered with swollen, bloody lips.

Jack Migol, troubleshooter for one of Hollywood's biggest studios, never heard his wife utter those words. He never heard her say anything that made sense again. That sent him on a path of revenge that would not be sated until a handful of tinseltown's elite were destroyed in ways equally as creative as the films they produced.
