HAROLD Q. MASUR'S FIRST SCOTT JORDAN NOVEL, BURY ME DEEP

192 Pages with a new cover by Doug Klauba

One of the best of the hard-boiled detectives, and one of the most neglected, is the fast-living lawyer Scott Jordan. Jordan is the creation of Harold Q. Masur, himself a practicing lawyer, born-and-educated in New York City, who now presents his cases as fiction. The first novel in the series is Bury Me Deep, a great title that definitely sets the mood. It’s a fast-moving murder mystery that begins when Jordan comes home early to find a beautiful but unknown blonde half-dressed and very drunk in his apartment. From then on things get ever more complicated, as murder and intrigue rear their twin heads with Jordan stuck in the middle, trying to solve the crime and clear himself of a murder charge.

Harold Q. Masur (January 29, 1909 New York City - September 16, 2005 Boca Raton, Florida) was an American lawyer and author of mystery novels. He graduated from the New York University School of Law in 1934 and practiced law between 1935 and 1942. Then he joined the U.S. Air Force. In the late 30s he started writing Pulp Fiction. In 1973 he was President of the Mystery Writers of America.

Ramona Stewart's DESERT TOWN is ready for ordering

Our newest book, Ramona Stewart's DESERT TOWN with a wonderful foreword by J.F. Norris is available for ordering on Amazon.com. Covert art by Fernando Vicente.

CLCIK HERE TO ORDER FROM AMAZON.COM

DESERT TOWN is dark crime fiction for those who have a taste for the perverse and violent. It was made into a major film, DESERT FURY, starring Burt Lancaster, Lizabeth Scott and Mary Astor. It’s the story of seventeen year old Paula Haller’s transition into womanhood as she defies her mother, Fritzi’s dominance. Fritzi runs the small town of Chuckawalla including the Purple Sage casino and saloon as well as a bordello or two. Fritzi can control everything but Paula and the tension between the two is drawn as tight as a drum. The scenery includes sprawling ranches, a very much out of place colonial mansion and the vast beauty of the desert. Mix in a notorious gangster, his insanely jealous torpedo, a love triangle, the town sheriff, some weirdly eccentric characters and innuendo aplenty. Once the sun brings all these ingredients to a boil you’ve got the backdrop for a noir setting like no other.
